BOSTANI | ORGANIC KITCHEN GARDEN

At the heart of our philosophy lies Bostani, our dedicated organic garden. Just a short walk from the resort, this fertile space thrives with seasonal fruits and vegetables grown in harmony with the land. Bostani is home to a wide variety of produce, including pomegranates, aubergines, tomatoes, peppers, and more. Alongside the garden, our herb garden, shaded by an ancient olive tree, is filled with fragrant herbs such as sage, oregano, rosemary, and the locally cherished diktamos.

Bostani plays a vital role in the culinary experience at Phāea Cretan Malia. Our chefs hand-pick fresh produce daily, ensuring that each dish reflects the essence of Crete’s natural bounty. By growing our own ingredients and sourcing locally, we reduce our environmental footprint while offering guests the freshest flavors possible.

Herb Garden
Our herb garden is a fragrant celebration of Crete's natural bounty flourished with aromatic herbs like sage, oregano, rosemary, and the prized diktamos, all hand-harvested for use in our dishes. These fresh, locally grown herbs infuse our meals with authentic flavors, embodying our commitment to sustainability and the island’s rich culinary traditions.
Conciousness
We work closely with local farmers through our PHĀEA Farmers Program, supporting small-scale producers who practice traditional agricultural methods. This program allows us to source some of the finest ingredients, such as:

27% of the fruits and vegetables served at the hotel come directly from our organic garden.
85% of the extra virgin olive oil used in our kitchens is sourced locally.
47% of the honey used at the resort is sourced from nearby beekeepers, ensuring pure, natural flavors.
